 Tracking Email Campaign Results
Solution There are several ways to monitor campaigns.  Two examples (there are many variations) include:

1. Since email campaigns are sent from a Contact View that contains specific Filter criteria (for example, only contacts in the state of NJ, in the Retail industry that are currently not customers), after you send an email campaign to contacts in this View, you can check the view to see how many are now a different status (Account Type). For example, if you ran a campaign called NJ Retail Prospects and created a view of the same name, after the campaign runs, you can check this saved view to see how many have changed status from a prospect to customer. You could also create another view with the same filter criteria plus one additional - Account Type = Customer (or other term depending on your setup). By clicking on this view, you can immediately see conversions.

2. You can add a custom field(s) to the Account record that capture the name of a desired email campaign. These fields are available for filtering in contact views and opportunity views. For example, if you added a field to Accounts named "Email Campaign", and assigned the value "November Special" to 50 Accounts, you could create a Contact View using this criteria -as well as an Opportunity View that will track the progress of opportunities part of the "November Special".

There are other variations, but 1 is a good example of tracking the status of Accounts exposed to certain campaigns, while 2 track the progress of opportunities associated with specific campaigns.
