Regarding dashboards, SJ takes the point of view that the user should be free to create any number of unique "snapshots" at any time, using simple or complex filtering combinations.  Futher, any data field, custom or "standard" can be used to filter, columns can be selected that are unique to a particular snapshot, and any multi-layered sort sequence can be applied.  We call our snapshots "Views" and each is its own dashboard to be tuned to your specification.

For example, you may want to quickly view Opportunities over a certain dollar amount that are expected to close in the next 30 days.  With SJ, just add a new Opportunity View and a combination ("and") filter to display, for example, "Expected Amt > 5000" AND "Expected Close Date < Today + 30" and you have a dashboard!  Want to see Opps that are greater than 50% probable?  Create a view, add the filter!  All Views and their parameters (filters, columns, sorting) are saved for future use to dynamically generate dashboard results and can be modified or deleted at any time.
